I am an english native speaker who has worked at the Vathorst College for the last 11 years. I’ve seen lots of people come and go. It’s a dynamic creative school and that’s the main reason why I’m still here and I love what I do, which is very different from what I used to do, nursing.
When I’m not working I spend as much time as possible walking with my dog or working for the empowerment of girls in the slums of Nairobi for a small charity I started in 2013. The Mathare Girl Power Project. Here in Europe we take for granted our privilaged lifestyle and life is full of opportunities for us and our children. I believe we should help others and teach our children to be aware of social inequality and injustice. I hope by setting an example, the next generation will grow up to be compassionate, caring “wereldburgers”.
